Alex and Bethany will provide the prompts—you come prepared to write and share! Curl Up With Some Eerie Tales
“Hello, all you spooksters out there!” Eerie Yates Tales, a night of creepy legends from in and around Yates County, was supposed to happen the Friday before Halloween. Unfortunately, it rained that night, so the event was cancelled. Fortunately, we recorded our stories so you can enjoy them from the cozy comfort of home! Check out Stephanie Olsen sharing a tale of buried treasure, Alex Andrasik reading about the sea serpent of Seneca Lake, and Bethany Snyder offering a fictional twist on the Lady in Granite of Lakeview Cemetery! Thank you to the Penn Yan Public Library for presenting this spooktacular event.

We’ll be meeting on Zoom, which means you can haunt this event from whatever crumbling seaside mansion you call home! Mark your blood-spattered calendar for 6 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

Workshops for 2021
With thanks to the folks who responded to our survey, we are pleased to announce that 2021 will be the year of workshops here at Keuka Writes! We hope this will give all of you who participate an opportunity to work through one or more complete pieces, start to finish, and wind up with a product of which you are truly proud. We would absolutely love it if some of the pieces that develop end up destined for a future issue of Bluff & Vine, but that won’t be a requirement; you can bring anything you wish to work on, with no requirements as to setting or theme. Workshops—virtual for the time…

Free-For-All Events
Change in plans! Let’s not try to be too formal and regimented in these difficult times. So, until some future time, we are pausing our “genre curriculum” and instead will offer, at the same dates and times, fun and mind-stretching live prompt writing opportunities. Follow the Events page for details of dates and times. We hope you’ll join us!

Virtually There Readings
Earlier this month, some of the writers and poets who contributed to the first three issues of Bluff & Vine got together to do a live online reading called Virtually There. If you weren’t able to make it, don’t worry—we’ll be sharing each reading over the next couple of weeks on the B&V website and Facebook page. And subscribe to the Keuka Writes YouTube channel!
